It is in the dereliction of cause that society implements so much effort to recapture its clean slate. From mere words, lives are changed irrevocably. From mere actions, worlds are cataclysmically combined. To a future that is so much dependent on a past that never had faith in its future, we come to a stand still. In a moment where we gather every person, every breath, every ounce of humanity at its most unexpected pinnacle, we hear nothing. The absence, not of presence but of mere void, is palpable. This absence, so empty, is the clean slate that we build these words.
